THIS SOLTEQ-QVF Crystallisation Unit (Model: BP 121) has been designed to demonstrate the basic
principles of crystallisation and the operation of a crystalliser equipment. Crystallisation is a separation
process where solid particles form within a homogenous liquid phase due to supersaturation induced
either through cooling or evaporation. This unit utilises both the cooling and evaporation methods, with additional
vacuum and reaction features to generate supersaturation for crystallisation to occur. Various types of salt
solutions such as NaCl, MgSO4 and KNO3 can be used within the unit to demonstrate different crystallisation
patterns, solubility behaviours and phase formations.
